Due to the frost, cold and wet weather we have been holding off planting up so far this year in the schools and the hospital project.
The exciting news was for the charity team to was to entertain the new High Sherriff Simon Berry and his wife Diane, alongside Susan Laisby from the Roselands Trust and Nicholas Coulson Trustee from Cumbria Community Foundation. They spent some time with our volunteers and staff looking at our school’s allotment, fruit and flower gardens. They enjoyed reading our evaluations of the seed to soup project and asked lots of questions about how to replicate this in other schools. The advise they gave for funding and marketing leads would be put to good use.
We have also begun to plan the new secret garden for Yr 4 that will hopefully come into bloom in October as a surprise and memorial piece for the school.
