Stramongate children allotment group visited the community site at castle head to see what the  local families and people of Kendal grow. The children enjoyed the treasure hunt and seeing all the tall sweetcorn and fruit that was ready to be picked.  Thanks to Lesley a Chestnut volunteer who allowed the children onto her plot and into her greenhouse.

Our theme for this year was to celebrate with the RAF their 100 years of service. The children choose to create 100 planes made from recycled material to enhance the flower displays. Following on from the peace and unity theme the children created flower displays in the same symbols showing proudly the Mayor and Kendal in Bloom judges.

Thanks to the Cubs and Scouts who also helped out with the display working towards their gardening badges. Congratulations to Ali for all his hard work especially his very own plane that received the head teachers award!
